Coombe Road Primary School

Broadening Horizons, Raising Aspirations

Safeguarding pupil voice groups and wellbeing survey

In the second half of the autumn term, the headteacher held ten safeguarding discussion groups with small groups of children from every year group. These discussions were split by gender to give children the opportunity to raise any issues related to child-on-child abuse and to share their thoughts and feelings on safety at Coombe Road Primary School. The results were very positive and show that the children feel safe at school and that they know who they can ask for help when they have a concern and that they have confidence that if they report a concern that it will be dealt with effectively.

A group of four girls in year 3 said:

'The teachers keep us safe. It is like a family where we take care of each other. School is like a home from home.'
