Welcome to the Coombe Road Primary School Website.

 Coombe Road Primary School is a diverse and welcoming community, where the children love their learning, their friends, and the staff.  We have a very committed, skilled and enthusiastic staff team and the atmosphere across the school is happy and positive.  We are a small, one-form entry school which means all the children, staff and parents/carers get to know each other very well. Our doors are always open for any child, parent or carer who needs support or advice.

All teachers and support staff work hard to ensure that the needs of all pupils are met and that each pupil feels valued, safe and happy. We have a strong belief in high levels of aspiration and want to give all our children broad experiences which shape their future and enable them to aspire to a successful, self-fulfilling life. We teach our children to be committed, seek opportunities, respect one another (and ourselves) and demonstrate excellence in all we do.

We develop positive children who are proud of where they have come from and who they want to be.  We broaden horizons and raise aspirations so that our children can reach their goals, whatever they may be.  At Coombe Road Primary, every child is unique and we value each and every one.  We share a pride in all of our achievements and celebrate these together, showing a mutual respect for one another as members of our very special 'Coombe Road Primary Family'.

~Amazing school with great family vibe. Teachers are caring and always trying to get the best of every child. What amazes me is that, no matter what year, all staff know every child by name and when kids are moving grades they already know the teacher!

 ~After a disheartening start in a larger school across town, my daughter was welcomed with open arms at Coombe Road and I have been amazed at the difference a close knit school community can make. My daughter has improved greatly in all aspects of the curriculum, as well as her emotional and social wellbeing and she loves coming to school!

 ~We are very happy with our child’s both academic and emotional growth since she started at Coombe Road School. She has loved her learning journey since day 1, we credit all the staff for being so caring and creating a family atmosphere that makes the kids and parents feel at home. The leadership is fantastic. Mrs Phillips is approachable and leads the School with passion and commitment. We would highly recommend the school. Thank you and keep up the good work. 

 ~All the teachers and staff at Coombe Road Primary have been fantastic during the 4 years my daughter has been there. Always kind and supportive and they have worked very hard to ensure that the school is a safe environment during the COVID pandemic. Most importantly my daughter enjoys going to school and has made good progress with her learning and social skills.

~Coombe Road is a fantastic school, we are so happy we chose it. All the staff we’ve had contact with, not just the teaching staff but also all the office staff and after school clubs too, are totally dedicated and professional. There’s a great atmosphere of warmth and care and we’ve been so impressed with the early years team - they have so much knowledge and experience. Our son loves school and most importantly is really engaged and enthusiastic about everything he is learning, it has been a very happy start to school!

 ~I have been going to this school for years now! My first is now in secondary school! Everyone who works at this school are wonderful, happy people that make the children go away with a smile - and the conversation we have in the car on what a fun day they have had.... I had a lot of support and help in the past and everyone is on top of what's going on around them. Such a well managed school. Coombe Road is a lovely school....

 ~Coombe Road Primary excels at being an inclusive, diverse and child centred school. Our daughter had the best possible start to reception due to the care, attention and creative learning staff provide. The school’s leadership team are visible, engaging and clearly know each child. Moreover, the whole staff team constantly show that they value each child as an individual, and as a result this ‘family feel’ enables the children to be happy, safe and learning. This is a fantastic school.

 ~I have one child that has attended Coombe Road since reception (now in secondary) and one still attending there. Over the last  seven years, it is apparent that the children are clearly their first priority. All the staff are fantastic. They always deal with any queries that I might have quickly and professionally. All the staff will go above and beyond their job role to make sure my children are receiving the best education and support. I am a key worker and, over the last several months during this unprecedented time, the school have been amazing. Being open has helped me remain being able to still do my job and take care of other people whilst they put themselves at risk looking after my children. Sending my child to school during lockdown was hard but the staff that remained in school made me feel a little better, always smiling and asking how I was and some days offering emotional support. All the safety measures they have in place are second to none I have no doubt of the safety of my child. Thank you everyone at Coombe Road :-)

 ~Coombe Road School staff have always been amazing with my 2 children whom currently both attend. My children have come on leaps and bounds since attending, I find the teachers and all staff cheery and approachable with anything you may need to discuss. They have been top notch with my children's additional needs and extremely supportive with putting things into place for them. I would recommend the school to anyone who asked. Thank you for all your hard work.

 ~Coombe Road Primary School has the most caring and supportive adults looking after our children. Thank you for making our daughter’s transition from nursery to ‘big school’ happen so smoothly, as a family we could not be happier. The hard work you all do shows on our children’s faces, they have the biggest smiles. Thank you for all your support, you are all truly amazing :-)
