Welcome!

A warm welcome to Octopus Class from Mr Milsted and Miss Phillips.

Our curriculum

This is an important year for the children as they prepare to make the move to secondary school and take end of key stage 2 tests, often referred to as SATs. These tests take place in May and include reading, maths, spelling and grammar.

P.E. days

Our PE days are Wednesday and Thursday. Please send your children to school wearing their PE clothes on these two days.

Upcoming events

We continue to try and be as open, supportive and welcoming to parents and carers as possible. As part of this ethos, we hold numerous events for parents and carers throughout the school year but you may wish to note these ones:

Thursday 24th April, 3:15pm to 4:30pm – Bunny Hop Disco and Easter Eggstavaganza

Tuesday 29th April, 9:00am to 9:45am – Relationships and Sex Education Curriculum consultation for parents and carers

Saturday 3rd May – Children's Parade

Wednesday 7th May – Official opening of the music room with Fatboy Slim

Monday 12th to Thursday 15th May Year 6 SATs week

Friday 23rd May – Last day of school before half-term

Planned trips

The children will be going on our residential trip to Lymley Wood in June.

End of key stage 2 tests

If you have a child in year 6, at the end of key stage 2 they will take national curriculum assessments in:

  • English grammar, punctuation and spelling;
  • English reading; and
  • mathematics.

Some people refer to these tests as SATs. You can find an information leaflet for parents and carers below:
