FRANK Sharman CITIZENSHIP Award
Frank Sharman was one of eight Sharmans over two generations who attended Coombe Road School. He enjoyed his time at school and, although he was not always a model pupil, he won a scholarship to Varndean Grammar School and went on to lead a varied life in the merchant navy, public relations and advertising. He moved to St. Kitts in the West Indies where he and his wife ran a successful business until his death in 2009.
The Sharman Award is presented annually in his memory by his family.
