FRANK Sharman CITIZENSHIP Award
Frank Sharman was one of eight Sharmans over two generations who attended Coombe Road School. He enjoyed his time at school and, although he was not always a model pupil, he won a scholarship to Varndean Grammar School and went on to lead a varied life in the merchant navy, public relations and advertising. He moved to St. Kitts in the West Indies where he and his wife ran a successful business until his death in 2009.
The Sharman Award is presented annually in his memory by his family.
This year, we have two students (the teachers just couldn't decide!)
For being the very best versions of themselves and overcoming great challenges throughout their time at Coombe Road. For always showing respect to our school community and seeking out new opportunities. You are both wonderful - stay this way.
For overcoming any difficulties and always striving to be the very best member of our school community. For continually demonstrating the CORE Values of Coombe Road Primary School - Commitment, Opportunity, Respect and Excellence.
For demonstrating commitment, opportunity, respect and excellence - and working so very hard to achieve her full potential.
For being an exemplary member of our school community, demonstrating commitment and excellence and always trying her very best (no matter how difficult a situation may be), and for always smiling and seeing the best in everyone and everything!
For demonstrating commitment, respect and excellence - and for seeking out new opportunities to ensure he becomes a good citizen.
